Commissioner of Police Zakari Biu sacked for Aiding Boko Haram… As Larmode,Akpoyibo Others Are Promoted

The fate of the controversial commissioner of police and Boko Haram sympathizer, Hassan Zakari Biu was finally sealed on Wednesday, as  the police service commission approved his dismissal from the police force.

Excerpt of a statement issued by the commission reads: “The Police Service Commission, after due consideration of the role played by Commissioner of Police, Hassan Zakari Biu, in the escape of the Boko Haram suspect, Kabiru Sokoto, today 22nd February, 2012 approved the dismissal of Mr. Hassan Zakari Biu  from the Nigeria Police Force with effect from February 22, 2012.’

This will mark the second time he will be dismissed from the force after he was first dismissed by the obasanjo regime in 1999 for the various ignoble roles he played in the Abacha regime.”

His dismissal followed recommendation made to the commission by a committee said to have been set up to investigate his role in the escape of Kabiru Sokoto a Boko Haram member who was arrested for masterminding the December 25th 2011 bombing of St Theresa Catholic church Madalla Niger state in which over 40 persons died and several injured.

Upon the arrest of Kabiru sokoto, Zakari Biu being the commissioner in charge of investigations was mandated to handle the investigation but sokoto escaped while being taken to his house in Abaji, to  conduct a routine search.

The decision to dismiss him was taken  during  the commission  26th Plenary Meeting held Wednesday, and presided over by Mr. Parry B.O. Osayande, DIG (Rtd) Chairman of the Commission,

According to the statement, which was authored and signed by the chief pres secretary to the commission, Mr Ferdinand Ekpe, the commission took far-reaching decisions aimed at repositioning the Nigeria Police Force for effective service delivery to the Nigerian Nation.

This include the appointment of seven new deputy inspector generals of police, namely, Suleiman Dauda Fakai, Atiku Yusufu Kafur,  Emmanuel Kachi Udeoji, Haruna John, Peter Yisa Gana, Marvel Akpoyibo,  and  Abdurahaman O. Akano.

Also, the promotion of thirteen police commissioner to the rank of assistant inspector general of police was approved.

Those promoted are, Solomon E. Olusegun, Michael E. Zuokumor, Orubebe Gandhi Ebikeme, Philemon I. Leha, Jonathan Johnson,     Dan’azumi Job Doma, Joseph Ibi, Muktari Ibrahim, Suleiman A. Abba, .Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe,.      Saliu Argungu Hashimu,.Solomon E. Arase, and David O. Omojola.

The Executive Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim A. Lamorde  was  promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police.

One of the best decisions ever taken. Now, everybody would be more careful in his or her conduct. Welldone Goodluck.

dismissal is not enough. he should be charged to court and tried for aiding and abetting the heinous crime.

This is 2nd chance in his life, and he messed up with it, well, no matter how soup sweet and no matter the kind of met you give to a dog, Dog must eat shit. Nothing u can do for this man that will take him away from crime. So let him face whatever punishment he deserve it.  Just look at his face 'Boko Haram'

I am amazed at what that decision is intended to show, should it be sacked or dismissal? I think the one who took that sack decision should be examined and if more than one person, all of them should be examined. My humble submission? They all are aiding and abetting. I submit they are Boko Haram members!  I think GJ should be more proactive than has been till now.

My recommendation, is that the sack Tonga should be withdrawn and replaced immediately with dismissal and he should be prosecuted for Treason and Felony. Until that is done, people who have no business being in the Police will continue to occupy exalted positions in the Nigeria Police and mess up the whole country.

I repeat give him DISMISSAL and follow it with prosecution not SACK. GJ act now!!!

I have no doubt Boko Haram guys are still making rounds in every decision making in the country be it judiciary, military, police, intelligence etc. This is a kind of give and take business.Business of religion and politics aimed at money control.Every one is directly or indirectly a participant. Our high officials have mastered the act of bending the law.One may think they are not intelligent enough. But they are well aware who would oppose and to what extent. So nothing is done in secrete. You can never think of sacking a big man without any crime committed.I then ask "are those so called higher ups above the law?"This is a slap on democracy that someone played criminal and is let off with a warning 'sacked'.So this ramantic verdict has   made Mr Zakari a Boko Haram hero. The terror supporters are now going to donate massively for the cause he stood for.Mr Zakari too would feel mildly humiliated and carry on passing vital security informations to Boko Haram.Ought he not be arrested before he strikes. If Mr Zakari is sacked as stated 'what is his crime? Both Zakari and the probing panel must be held responsible for this perverted  justice. And i ask again"why is Zakari mum on his sacking?"Does he not want to challenge it?Maybe Zakari has been axed to save many heads.Who knows.
